RUSS WILSON - DRUMS
Russ has been drumming since he was nine years old and has been a full-time professional drummer and drum teacher for the past 20 years. He is an experienced Live and Studio performer, who has worked across most genres - from Prog Rock, Jazz, Rock and Funk to Tribute Acts. He has toured extensively across the UK and Worldwide with many artists, including: Fragile Yes, Genesis Visible Touch, Led Zep Too, Owen Paul, Ultimate Elton and the Rocket Band. For more information about Russ, click here to visit his website. STEVE MARSHALL - BASS Steve learned to play the flute at school, inspired by seeing Jethro Tull on Top of the Pops. He can still stand on one leg as and when required. He switched from flute to bass guitar when it became clear that the flute was not the future of rock and roll. Steve has played electric bass and fretless bass with numerous bands across most genres. Steve and Russ have been members of Jazz Fusion outfit Curfew for the past 30 years, releasing three critically-acclaimed CDs. Steve is an agile and inventive bass player, using a fretless bass for music where one is rarely used. Without a teacher, he learned to play guitar the wrong way round, and with the strings upside-down. This is an extremely rare method, with no benefits whatsoever, but is amusing to watch. Kids, do not try this at home. Mark has played with numerous bands of various genres since he was at school and is a veteran of countless gigs large and small. In the words of Mark Knopfler, Mark is ‘strictly rhythm, he doesn’t like to make it cry or sing’, preferring to get ‘in the pocket’ with the bass and drums. He briefly played with his favourite band, Dr Feelgood. Click here to view. |
